Well its good to know that I came up with a good idea for once! No seriously, I'm not good at the whole good ideas thing. Anyway, in terms of finding a sight, I do't believe there is any in our area. I think that's why Oddball has been looking at starting one up because apart from a couple of paintballing sights which are quite small there's none near enough to recon easily and I really wouldn't know how to start. If you give me some idea of how to go about it, mybe send me a PM 'Idiots Guide to Organising an Airsoft Event' and I'll try. Might have to have a look at some literature on the Falaise gap. See what could be included. Anyway thanks for the encouragement!

An 'Idiots Guide to Organising an Airsoft Event'   , well we qualify on all those criteria . We'll have a think and see what we can come up with , TBH none of us are experts we make it up as we go along mostly. 8)

No local site is going to be a problem as it's key to getting things going . Re scenarios it's worth trying to think of the key things that defined a battle and incorpoate them into the game . Falaise to me conjurs up open(ish) territory , hedgerows , a lot of bombing and some tanks , all of which you can work in somehow or other.

I'll start it as a new thread and see where people think would be suitable!

No worries dude, wouldnt hurt to probably get your self to a few to be honest just to see the bigger airsoft picture.

What we're trying to do at CiA is WWII games with a fairly autentic beleivable scenario and structured kit/teams.

Anyone wearing anything is *exaclty* what WWII game sused to be in the past and in some cases you had 'wwii on one side, modern on the other' etc.

No i know what you meant and again thats how ww2 games used to be and its really a bit pointless IMO, if you just want to play airsoft in fancy dress/ww2 kit then why not wear your kit to an open day if you dont mind what the opposition are wearing.

To me chindits vs waffen ss in winter kit is no less ridiculous than molle multicam warriors versus the 27th panzer.

.........otherwise known as the "Skirmish in Silly Kit" which as Gadge points out is not what our games are about . His advise to go to a few open days in your kit is good, it'll get you involved more with the whole airsoft world.

I don't really think any game involving the Dirlewanger Brigade committing mass atrocities against civilians is likely to be a good idea.
